# Vela end-user licence terms

**Copyright (c) 2026 Dmitriy Shtro.** This EULA applies to the official Vela
binary distribution. The source code is separately offered under the
[PolyForm Strict License 1.0.0](LICENSE).

## Permission for the official build

Subject to these terms, you may download the official Vela binary, install it
on Apple devices you personally control, use it for personal and
noncommercial purposes, create and keep your own media-library metadata and
settings, and uninstall it at any time.

## Restrictions

Except where applicable law does not permit the restriction, you may not:

- redistribute the DMG or application bundle, or mirror the official download;
- sell, rent, sublicense, commercially exploit, or incorporate Vela into
  another application;
- modify Vela or create derivative versions, including a competing media
  player;
- remove or obscure copyright, AIR, author, licence, provenance, or other
  legal notices;
- represent a modified copy as an official Vela release;
- extract or reuse the Vela name, icons, visual identity, or branding;
- bypass licence or provenance checks;
- use the official Vela name for an unauthorized fork; or
- reverse engineer Vela except to the limited extent that applicable law
  expressly allows.

Commercial licensing is available only by separate written agreement with

## Ownership, termination, and survival

Vela, its original source code, AIR attribution, visual identity, and all
related intellectual-property rights remain with their respective owners. This
licence terminates automatically if you materially breach these terms. The
ownership, attribution, restrictions, disclaimer, and liability provisions
survive termination.

## No warranty and liability limit

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Vela is provided “as is”, without
warranty or condition of any kind. Dmitriy Shtro is not liable for damages
arising from Vela, these terms, or use of the software.

## Governing law
